How it works
From first call to gold in hand, in three steps
Tell us your goal
Fifteen minutes with someone who trades these metals daily. Inflation hedge, long-term store of value, or passing wealth on - the answer changes what you should buy.
Coins, bars, or a mix
We quote the live price, the premium over spot, and what we would pay to buy it back - before you commit anything. Larger orders can settle by bank transfer.
Yours, insured
Fully insured delivery to your door anywhere in the UK, or secure allocated storage in your name with delivery available whenever you want it in your hands.
Ways to start
Four simple starting points
First Ounce
A 1oz Silver Britannia or fractional gold bar. The simplest way to hold real metal and learn how pricing works.
Monthly Accumulator
Regular monthly purchases across a 12-month cycle instead of one lump sum. Popular for retirement saving and building wealth for children.
Investor Mix
CGT-free Britannia coins for tax-efficient gains, blended with bars for the lowest premium per gram. Most clients want a mix.
Allocated Holding
Larger holdings with secure allocated storage, buyback quotes on request, and settlement by bank transfer with no card fees.
Coins vs bars
Two tax breaks. Know which is which.
Tax treatment
UK legal tender, so gains are exempt from Capital Gains Tax - no matter how much they rise, with no limit on how many you hold.
Investment-grade gold is VAT-free, but bars are not legal tender, so gains can be chargeable to CGT. Tax treatment depends on your circumstances.
Premiums
A modest premium over the metal price, reflecting Royal Mint striking. The CGT exemption typically outweighs it for UK taxpayers.
The lowest premium per gram, especially at larger sizes - the most metal for your money.
Flexibility
Sell one ounce at a time as and when you need to - small units keep your holding liquid.
Larger single pieces suit long-term holdings and allocated storage; we quote buyback on everything we sell.
Best for
UK taxpayers planning to hold and eventually sell at a gain.
Maximising metal per pound spent, particularly on larger purchases.

Frequently asked questions
Are Gold Britannias really free of Capital Gains Tax?
Yes. Gold and Silver Britannias are UK legal tender with a face value, and UK legal tender coins are exempt from Capital Gains Tax, with no cap on how many you hold or how much they gain. Gold bars are not legal tender, so gains on bars can be chargeable to CGT. Tax treatment depends on your circumstances and can change - please take advice on your own position.
Is there VAT on gold and silver?
Investment-grade gold - coins and bars of the required purity - is exempt from VAT in the UK, so a gold bar costs roughly its metal value plus a modest fabrication premium. Silver does not get this treatment: VAT is included in the price of silver coins and bars.
How do I know the metal is genuine?
Every coin we sell is struck by The Royal Mint, and our bars come from recognised refiners such as Metalor, Umicore and Valcambi. We quote to buy back everything we sell, which is only possible when we stand behind its authenticity.
How is delivery handled?
Delivery is fully insured to your door anywhere in the UK, free of charge. If you would rather not keep metal at home, we can arrange secure allocated storage - identifiable as yours, with delivery available whenever you want it.
Can I sell my metal back to you?
Yes. We will always quote to buy your metal back, and we tell you our buyback approach before you buy - so you know both sides of the trade from day one.
How do larger purchases work?
Larger orders are handled personally by a specialist and can settle by bank transfer, which avoids card fees entirely. You will speak to a named person at our Cardiff or Nottingham office, not a call centre.
